Error correction
This is redundancy that lets a code still be read when part of it is obscured or damaged. Higher levels are more robust but produce a denser pattern.
| Level | Recoverable | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Low | 7% | On-screen display |
| Medium | 15% | Ordinary print |
| Quartile | 25% | Stickers, business cards |
| High | 30% | Outdoors, or where damage is likely |
If you plan to overlay a logo, use Quartile or High.
Colours
You can change the foreground and background. Contrast matters — dark on light is the norm, and some scanners fail on inverted codes.
If contrast is too low, you are warned before saving. Adjust the colours when you see that warning.
Size and margin
The quiet zone is the empty space around the code. Without it, scan reliability drops sharply, so keeping the default is the safe choice.
Saving and sharing
Save the finished code as a PNG or share it directly. Saved images go to the QR Reader X album.
Sharing text from another app also opens the create screen.
