Connecting
What you need, and the order to do it in.
What you need
- An Android TV or Google TV device (Android 8.0 or later)
- A phone on the same Wi-Fi with the VXplorer app
Both devices must be on the same network. Guest Wi-Fi, or routers that separate 2.4GHz and 5GHz, can stop them finding each other.
The order
- Open VXplorer TV on the television. The standby screen shows its name and IP.
- Open VXplorer on your phone.
- Choose a video, send it to the TV, and pick the television from the list.
Leave the TV app running. A notification shows it is ready, and you can send to it at any time.
Automatic on power-on
Switching the television on starts the receiver by itself. You do not have to find and launch the app each time.
Where the video comes from
The file is sent directly by the phone. The TV app uses no storage permission and nothing passes through a developer server — so files on the phone, and videos on a NAS or PC opened through VXplorer, both play the same way.
