Pairing with the QR code
When automatic discovery does not work.
Why it exists
The television announces itself on the network over mDNS. Some routers block that announcement — usually called AP isolation or multicast filtering. The TV then never appears in the phone's list.
How
The standby screen shows a QR code. Scanning it from VXplorer on the phone connects directly, without discovery.
The code carries the television's address and port plus a six-digit pairing code. That code is regenerated each time the app starts and stops devices you did not allow from connecting.
If it still fails
- Check both devices really are on the same Wi-Fi. A phone that dropped to mobile data will not find it.
- If the TV is on Ethernet and the phone on Wi-Fi, a router that separates the two segments will hide one from the other.
- Guest networks usually block device-to-device traffic altogether.
