Release notes 1.0.0
Live TV, companion TV app, home widgets, and improved subtitle handling.
Version 1.0.0 (build 9) · Android 8.0 and above
This update focuses on media playback and TV integration, and adds a substantial amount of functionality. The privacy policy has been revised alongside it.
New
Live TV (IPTV)
Load M3U playlists and XMLTV guides to play channels. Xtream Codes accounts are supported, and channels can be added to favourites.
Companion TV app
Pair with the dedicated Android TV app to hand playback to a TV on the same network. Playback state syncs both ways, and subtitle selection and transport controls work from the phone.
Home screen widgets
Three widgets: storage overview, favourites, and quick controls.
Intro screen
An intro video plays once on first launch.
Improved
Subtitle handling
- Subtitle language is detected automatically and shown in the track list
- More accurate WebVTT conversion when casting SRT subtitles
- Broader detection of subtitles embedded in web players
- Subtitle size changes during playback are now reliable
Media viewer stability
- Added media probing so formats are identified correctly before playback
- Improved gesture handling and memory use in the video and image viewers
Casting
- Better controls in the expanded cast controller
- More reliable streaming from the local cast server
Fixed
- Fixed an ANR when disconnecting from the TV app
- Resolved a race condition in cast session handling
- Fixed live subtitle size changes that intermittently failed to apply
- Fixed SRT subtitles being ignored when casting
Privacy policy revision
The policy has been rewritten to match the expanded feature set. Key changes:
- New IPTV section — playlist URLs and credentials are stored on the device, and playback sends requests directly to the provider you configure
- New section on TV integration and local servers — documents the servers the App runs (device FTP, cast HTTP, TV session host)
- Network discovery documented — explains the port-connection attempts across your local subnet
- Clarified how remote server passwords are stored — they are stored without encryption
- Corrected the recycle bin location — it lives in shared storage and survives uninstalling
- Precise description of Vault protection — biometrics gate screen access, and filenames are not encrypted
