What the click count counts
Only human clicks. No visitor records are kept.
What is counted
Only a person opening the link. The list shows the total clicks and when it was last opened.
What is not counted
Share a link once and machines open it before any person does. Counting those means the number rises from a single post in a group chat, and then it tells you nothing.
- Messenger and social previews: KakaoTalk, Slack, Facebook, Twitter and others fetch the link to build a preview
- Mail scanning: spam and security filters follow links in advance
- Browser prefetch: browsers fetch links you look likely to click
- Body-less requests (HEAD): requests that only check the status
These requests are still redirected — a broken preview means the person receiving the link cannot tell what it is. They are simply not counted.
This cannot be perfect; some machines pretend to be people. But excluding the common ones makes the number far more honest.
What is not kept
Nothing about who opened the link. No per-visitor records, no list of addresses, no referrers. No advertising or analytics tools.
What we keep is one number and one timestamp.
